The 'Drover' tablet range offers a true, light-weight, weatherproof tool for use in applications as broad as retail, factory/warehouse or 'in vehicle' use. With a robust IP65 rated design, as well as a choice of built-in options such as barcode scanner, RFID scanner and a camera, at less than 1.5kgs it offers excellent 'performance per gram'!

Product Overview

New to the Opentec range for December 2009, the Drover range offers durability for applications where weight is an issue, such as those that involve the device being hand carried for extended periods.

To achieve this, we've used a durable, high impact resistant plastic chassis with a metal sub-frame, that allows for a more compact design and lower weight. The unit is still IP65 rated, meaning it offers excellent dust and moisture resistance.

With a10.4" LCD and the option of a brighter (400NIT) 'HiBrite' daylight readable LCD for improved reabability in full sun, it's powered by an Intel 1.5GHz ATOM CPU and will support up to 2Gb of RAM, making it no slouch in the data processing stakes.

Typical applications for the Drover include:

• POS (Point Of Sale)
• Warehouse inventory management
• machinery control
• in-vehicle 

.... or any 'thin client' application where on-board data processing requirements are not very heavy, and wireless (WiFi) connectivity is required.

In any application that involves being in full summer sun for extended would, we'd recommend the 'HiBrite' version.

Like the RPT tablet range, it has a fan-less chassis that exceeds MIL-STD 810F (durability) requirements, as well as offers options such as GPS.
